GSL will welcome (all at once) its K-6 students back to school Monday
Thanks to a declining number of positive COVID-19 cases in McLeod County in the past two weeks, the Glencoe-Silver Lake School District can welcome back all its elementary students back to school Monday Sept. 28.
Superintendent Chris Sonju reported last week the drop in the number of cases the past 14 days will allow all students in Lincoln Elementary and Lakeside Elementary School to return to school on-site Monday morning. Junior- and senior high-schoolers will continue the hybrid model for the time being, Sonju said.
The district learned last week the case rate is at 15.07 cases per 10,000 over the past 14 days. The threshold for having all students in school is 19 cases per 10,000 residents.
