GSL/LP wrestlers fourth at Chanhassen tournament

GSL/LP’s Jace Cacka (left) and Carter Ruschmeier sparred during practice Thursday, Dec. 9, in preparation for the Chanhassen tournament Saturday, Dec. 11. Ruschmeier finished fourth at 170 pounds in the tournament. Cacka took fourth in the 160-pound bracket.

Lemke paces GSL/LP to fourth-place finish

The Glencoe-Silver Lake/Lester Prairie wrestling team had good reason to be pleased with their results at the Chanhassen invitational Saturday.
The Panthers finished fourth with 113 points. Wayzata won the tournament with 188, followed by Owatonna (167½) and Dassel-Cokato/Litchfield (139½). Osseo (99½), Irondale (82), Minnetonka (73), Mankato West (69), Buffalo (62) and Elk River (58) rounded out the top 10 teams in the 17-team tournament. The rest of the field included Eden Prairie (69), Chaska-Chanhassen (55), Rosemount (55), Woodbury (53), Sauk Rapids-Rice (44), East Ridge (28) and Hopkins (8).
GSL/LP coach Lance Wurm was especially pleased with the efforts of younger wrestlers in the lighter weights and the veterans alike.
