Hallaway, Guerrero punch their tickets to state meet Nov. 2

Connor Hallaway and Kendall Guerrero, both Glencoe-Silver Lake sophomore cross-country runners, each punched their ticket to state cross-country meet at St. Olaf College in Northfield with qualifying times at the section meet in Blue Earth. Hallaway has been the top runner for the boys and Guerrero has been the top runner for the girls throughout the season.
They also each qualified last year as freshmen, but each have something extra yet to prove because they didn’t have as good of state runs as they did section runs. This year, Hallaway’s qualifying time at the section meet in Blue Earth was 16:45.1, his second time running in under 17 minutes. Guerrero’s qualifying time was 20:04.9 — a good time, but more consistent with the rest of her season.
