Harold R. Radoush, 81, Silver Lake

Harold R. Radoush, 81, of Silver Lake, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at the Hutchinson hospital.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m., at Faith Presbyterian Church in Silver Lake. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Radoush was born Oct. 17, 1933, to Joseph and Anna (Schiller) Radoush Sr. in Hale Township, McLeod County. He was baptized and confirmed at Faith Presbyterian Church in Silver Lake. He attended District 69 elementary school and Hutchinson High School.
He served his country in the U.S. Army, and was discharged in 1959 after serving a 21⁄2-year term in Germany. He and his brothers, Donald and Roger, purchased the home farm from their parents and proceeded to build the farm from 40 acres to 400 acres before retiring.
Mr. Radoush was a hunter, trapper, avid reader, a journalist, collector of Native American art and a collector of coins. He enjoyed watching football, was a wonderful storyteller and a historian for war -time periods. Harold, Donald and Roger attended the re-enactment of Jesse James in Northfield. He also enjoyed going to the casinos. He was a generous and giving man.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Sr. and Anna; and sisters and brother, Alice Radoush, Robert Radoush Sr. and Joan Grant.
He is survived by his stepson, John Mross; brothers and sisters, Joseph Radoush Jr., Roger Radoush, Donald Radoush, Marlyce (Elroy) Lenzen, Wallace Radoush and Rosemary Radoush; special friend, Karen Schwartz; 14 nieces and nephews; and numerous Army comrades.
