Janice Dascher, 75, of Hutchinson, wife of Duane Dascher, died Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at her home.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 28, at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson with the Rev. Gerhard Bode officiating. Paul Otte was the organist. Soloist Gene Kruse sang “In the Garden.” Congregational hymns were “A Closer Walk With Thee” and “Abide With Me.”
Casket bearers were Mitchell Sims, Joshua Hartelt, Michael Block, Dennis Schroeder, Larry Nelson and Dean Duesterhoeft. Interment was in the Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson.
Janice E. Dascher was born March 19, 1945, in Hutchinson, the daughter of Louis C. and Edna A. (Plath) Klitzke. She was baptized as an infant and confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. She attended Lynn Township Country School and was a graduate of the Hutchinson High School class of 1964.
On Dec. 9, 1972, she was united in marriage to Duane Dascher at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson. Their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Kelly and Kimberly. The Daschers resided in Hutchinson and shared 45 years of marriage.
Mrs. Dascher was employed at Woolworth for 20 years, Hutchinson Technology, Inc., for 25 years, and also at Green Giant and Coast to Coast. She retired in 2009. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.
She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, crafting and sewing. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, camping, watching soap operas and watching the family’s horses and cattle. She loved her dogs, Henry and George. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Duane Dascher of Hutchinson; daughters, Kelly Buresh and Kimberly (Brian) Block, both of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Tyler Buresh of Hutchinson, Allyssa (Joshua Hartelt) Sims-Hartelt of Brookings, South Dakota, Nicole Buresh of Hutchinson and Mitchell Sims of Hutchinson; stepgrandson, Michael (Colleen) Block of Chanhassen; brother and sister-in-law, Dexter and Penny Klitzke of Hutchinson; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barb and Glen Bemis of Buffalo Lake; uncle and aunt, David and Delores Plath of Hutchinson; many cousins, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Edna Klitzke; brother, Loren Klitzke; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Mabel Dascher.
