Jody Ann Lhotka, 51, of Plato

Jody Lhotka, 51, wife of Pat Lhotka, of Plato, died Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
A private family service will be held.
Jody Ann Lhotka was born April 22, 1967, in Waconia, the daughter of Robert and Janice (Karels) Ketcher. She was baptized as an infant and was confirmed in her faith as a youth. She received her education in Norwood Young America, and was a graduate of the Central Public School District High School class of 1985. She furthered her education at Hennepin County Technical College in Eden Prairie, and received her licensed practical nursing (LPN) degree.
On Dec. 3, 1988, she was united in marriage to Pat Lhotka at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Rachel and Matthew. The couple resided in Plato, and shared 29 years of marriage.
Mrs. Lhotka was employed as a teacher at Southwest Intermediate School District for several years. She also taught child care to teenage mothers. She was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Plato, where she taught Sunday school. She also was a member of the 4-H organization.
She enjoyed gardening and quilting. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
When she needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.
She is survived by her husband, Pat Lhotka of Plato; children, Rachel Lhotka (special friend Garrett Albright) of Burlington, Iowa, and Matthew Lhotka (special friend Alissa Ramthun) of Plato; parents, Robert and Janice Ketcher of Norwood Young America; siblings, Susan (Kerry) Smith of Gilbert, Arizona, Peggy (Jay) Whitcomb of Minnetonka, Jennifer (Kevin) Erickson of Prior Lake and Jim (wife Teresa Neubarth) Ketcher of Norwood Young America; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerome and Patricia Lhotka of Norwood Young America; brothers-in-law, Jerry (Teresa) Lhotka of Watertown, Marcus Lhotka of Glencoe and Steven (Pamela) Lhotka of Litchfield; many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, John Ketcher.
