July 4th is a time to celebrate

On July 4, 1776, 242 years ago, our founding fathers laid out a plan for a new nation, free from the contraints of a monarchy. A nation that was to be a democracy. The Declaration of Independence declared the orginal 13 colonies soveriegn states, taking the first steps at the formation of The United States of America.
Much has happened in the last 242 years and many times we forget the importance of the declaration of independence. There still many places in the world that don’t experience the freedoms that are easy to take for granted.
The right to vote, the right to a free press, the right to a free press are not things that everyone in the world has the priverledge to experience, yet it is something that we don’t usually ever think about.
As you head to the lake, family party, camping for the long weekend or just enjoying the day, take a moment to remember what the day means.
