Keeping Trailblazer Transit drivers, passengers safe

There’s plenty of work in Jonny Mackenthun’s auto body shop south of Glencoe. He didn’t need the work from Trailblazer Transit to survive.
But Mackenthun knows how to work hard and keep his regular clients happy. So when Trailblazer Transit asked the owner of Jonny Rock Auto Body to design and create an encloser to keep its drivers safe from passengers who may be carrying the COVID-19 virus, he wasn’t about to turn down the offer.
Mackenthun has been working with Trailblazer for 16-plus years. He recalls the day when the fleet manager had him repair a chip from a rock on the hood of a bus. The manager’s son and Mackenthun’s son played youth baseball together.
“I knew he was just testing the water,” Mackenthun said.
