Kruggel resigns from Stewart City Council
The Stewart City Council is seeking a new council member.
The City Council passed a resolution at its Tuesday, Oct. 13, meeting accepting the resignation of Council Member Chuck Kruggel, and declaring a vacancy on the Council. Mayor Jason Peirce said Kruggel has moved out of the city, and therefore is no longer qualified to be on the City Council.
Kruggel was elected to a four-year term to the City Council in November 2014, and began serving in January 2015.
The City Council plans to appoint a replacement until the November 2016 election, at which time there will be a special election on the ballot to fill out the remaining two years of Kruggel’s term.
