Lila L. Jaskowiak, 86, of Lester Prairie

Lila Lena (Stuedemann) Jaskowiak, 86, of Lester Prairie, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017, at Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park.
Funeral services were held Thursday, March 2, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Daniel Welch officiating. Dawn Wolter was the organist. Congregational hymns were “Amazing Grace,” “Abide With Me” and “How Great Thou Art.”
Nathan Jaskowiak was an honorary casket bearer. Casket bearers were Daniel Nemitz, Michael Nemitz, Nicholas Jaskowiak, Ashley Warnke, Abby Jaskowiak and Katrina Leaf. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Lila Lena (Stuedemann) Jaskowiak was born Aug. 20, 1930, in Glencoe, the daughter of George and Augusta (Meier) Stuedemann. She was baptized as an infant on Sept. 14, 1930, by the Rev. Dysterheft at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, rural Glencoe, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on April 2, 1944, at Peace Lutheran Church in Echo. She received her education in Echo.
She was united in marriage to Lloyd Nemitz in 1951. Mr. Nemitz later died in a car accident. On May 14, 1958, she was united in marriage to Simon Jaskowiak by the Rev. A.H. Fellwock at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. Her life was blessed with seven children, Michael, Kevin, Douglas, DuWayne, Gary, Joyce and Diane. She made her home in Glencoe and Lester Prairie. In 2012, when she needed assistance with her daily care, she became a resident of Grand Meadows in Glencoe, and then lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Scott Crawford.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Mrs. Jaskowiak worked at Hands in Hutchinson and Nature Fresh and Green Giant in Glencoe. She also was a waitress at area restaurants and always greeted her customers with a smile. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, where she served on the ladies aid.
She enjoyed gardening, puzzles, word finds, playing cards, knitting, fishing and shooting pool. She cherished the time spent with family and friends.
She is survived by  her children, Michael (Mary) Nemitz of Hutchinson, Kevin (Kris) Nemitz of Motley, Douglas Jaskowiak of Glencoe, DuWayne (Sheila) Jaskowiak of Jacksonville, Florida, Gary Jaskowiak of Park Rapids, Joyce (Scott) Crawford of Brooklyn Park and Diane Warnke (significant other Steve) of Rochester; 19 grandchildren, Michael, Dawn, Michelle, Daniel, Rebecca, Tiffany, Nicholas, Laura, Nathan, Cara, John, Gina, Trisha, Katrina, Abby, Megan, Amanda, Chris and Ashley; 32 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Theresa (Jerome) Cafferty of Howard Lake and Lois Stuedemann of Tyler; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Augusta Stuedemann; husbands, Lloyd Nemitz and Simon Jaskowiak; brother, Orville Stuedemann and his first wife, Beverly; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Edmund and Sharon Jaskowiak, Pauline and Mel McClary, Martha and Marvin Brown, Blanche and Oscar Quast and Clara and Leonard Laxen.
