A little downtown pizzazz – Crosswalk painting party Saturday
Members of a city subcommittee working on the revitalization of downtown Glencoe will welcome anyone with creativity or an interest in bringing a little color to the intersection of East 11th Street and North Greeley Avenue Saturday morning, Sept. 14. Anyone interested in bringing a little pizzazz to the area is invited to stop by beginning at 9 a.m.
Bring whatever level of talent and creativity you have to offer. No minimum level is required, said Gabby Fountain and Mike Drew, two of the subcommittee members organizing the event.
A subcommittee of the Glencoe Downtown Revitalization Committee is working on projects to beautify the downtown area. One of its first projects was to bring a bit of color to municipal waste receptacles downtown. Next up are the four crosswalks at the intersection North Greeley Avenue and East 11th Street along with additional barrel painting.
