Lora Lorraine Beneke, 87, of Glencoe

Lora Lorraine (Templin) Beneke, 87, of Glencoe, died Saturday, June 3, 2017, at Glencoe Regional Health Services Long Term Care.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 7, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Ronald Mathison officiating. Luke Dahl was the organist. Congregational hymns were “My Faith Looks Up to Thee,” “Nearer, My God, to Thee” and “I Know That My Redeemer Lives.”
Honorary casket bearers were her granddaughters, Katie LaPointe, Jackie Howitson, Christina Debner, Abigail Debner and Anne Kallander. Casket bearers were Gary Templin, Ross Grunzke, Kyle LaPointe, Bryce Howitson, James Kallander and Brian Sellnow.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
Lora Lorraine (Templin) Beneke was born May 16, 1930, in Glencoe, the daughter of Tillman and Hilda (Vogt) Templin. She was baptized as an infant on June 1, 1930, by the Rev. Kolbe, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on May 7, 1944, by the Rev. Alfred Streufert, both at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
On Aug. 27, 1950, she was united in marriage to Glen Beneke by the Rev. Alfred Streufert at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. The couple made their home on Mr. Beneke’s family farm west of Glencoe. They were blessed with four children, Lois, Susan, Dale and Sarah. They shared nearly 67 years of marriage.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother and homemaker, Mrs. Beneke helped on the family farm. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
First and foremost, Mrs. Beneke was devoted to her family and encouraged them to follow their dreams. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking and baking. She also loved to play solitaire, watch cooking shows and read her cooking magazines. She and her husband were close and loved to do things together, truly cherishing their lives together.
She is survived by her husband, Glen Beneke of Glencoe; daughters, Lois (Bruce) Graham of Rogers and Susan (Allan) Debner of Winsted; son, Dale Beneke of Longwood, Florida; five granddaughters, Katie (Kyle) LaPointe, Jackie (Bryce) Howitson, Christina Debner, Abigail Debner and Anne (James) Kallander; five great-grandchildren, Nolan and Sarah LaPointe, Hailey Howitson, Adrian Weber and Eva Hartman; brother, Harold (Bonnie) Templin of Glencoe; brother-in-law, John Aul of Hutchinson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tillman and Hilda Templin; daughter, Sarah Beneke; great-granddaughter, Regina Kallander; brother and his wife, Chester and Marcia Templin; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edwin and Regina Beneke; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Aul.
