Loren William Lange, 75, of Glencoe

Loren William Lange, 75, of Glencoe, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 3, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe with the Rev. Daniel Welch officiating. Dawn Wolter was the organist. Congregational hymns were “When Peace, Like a River,” “The Lord’s My Shepherd, I’ll Not Want” and “Abide With Me.”
Honorary casket bearers were Wayne Gruenhagen, Lori Adamietz, Susan Engelmann and Kristi Gruenhagen. Casket bearers were Danny Brinkman, Larry Gruenhagen, Steve McLain and David Brinkman. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Loren William Lange was born May 28, 1942, in Helen Township, McLeod County, the son of Clarence and Lillian (Dittmer) Lange. He was baptized as an infant and confirmed in his faith as a youth in 1956 by the Rev. Plocher, both at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township. He received his education in Glencoe.
On Feb. 9, 1964, he was united in marriage to Diane Duenow by the Rev. R.F. Meissner at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. The couple made their home near Glencoe, and their marriage was blessed with two daughters, Julie and Jenni. They shared over 53 years of marriage.
Mr. Lange worked at Pinske’s Builders, Glencoe Servi-Soft, Murphy’s, Inc., and then, in 1972, went into business with Granny Drew and started Drew & Lange, Inc., serving local famers. In 1993, the business grew into what was known as Lange Dairy Equipment, Inc., and  later became Lange Dairy & Electric until Mr. Lange’s retirement in 2011. He was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
Mr. Lange had a heart of gold and it was the size of Texas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, playing cards, going to the lake, grilling and entertaining. He loved to watch John Wayne western movies and the Minnesota Vikings with his grandsons. He enjoyed bringing a smile to others and was quick with a humorous statement to see if you’d believe his exaggeration.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Lange of Glencoe; daughters, Julie Hahn of Annandale and Jenni Lange of Prior Lake; grandsons, Mitchell Hahn of Prior Lake and Travis Hahn of Annandale; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Lillian Lange; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Albert and Myrtle Duenow; sisters and their husbands, Geraldine and Orville Gruenhagen and Marian and Maynard Brinkman; and brother-in-law, Melvin Duenow.
Arrangements were with the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe. Online obituaries and guest book are available at www.mcbridechapel.com.
