Marlene Braun, 59, of Hutchinson

Marlene Braun, 59, of Hutchinson, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2016, at Hutchinson Health Hospital.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Dobratz-Hantge Funeral Chapel in Hutchinson with the Rev. Jerry Meidl officiating.
Interment was in the St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, rural Stewart. Casket bearers were Jody Miller, Sara Shurtleff, Stacy Pederson, Gene Becker, Nick Pichotta and Brent Pichotta. Honorary casket bearers were the staff and residents at Aveyron Homes.
Marlene Audrey Braun was born Oct. 27, 1956, in Olivia, the daughter of Wilbur and Mary (Goelz) Braun. She was baptized Nov. 4, 1956, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Olivia, and was confirmed in her faith there on Feb. 23, 1969. She moved with her family to various locations during her childhood, and attended various schools. She graduated from Danube High School.
In 1975, she moved to Mankato, where she lived until 1987. She then moved to Willmar, where she lived until moving to Hutchinson in 1996. Ms. Braun worked with West Central Industries, giving her the opportunity to do a variety of jobs. Her residence was with Aveyron Homes in Hutchinson, and she thoroughly enjoyed the staff and her friends she lived with.
She loved animals. When she wasn’t working, she kept busy with her favorite activities, including puzzles, crafts, dancing, bowling and shopping. She liked going on trips, and especially enjoyed her trips to Florida and Hawaii.
She spent her last weeks in Harmony River Living Center, and died Oct. 24, 2016, three days before her 60th birthday.
She is survived by her siblings, Elaine (Orville) Molenaar of Renville, Wilbur Braun Jr. of Redwood Falls, Monica (Duane) Becker of Brownton, John Braun of Redwood Falls, Russell Braun of Hutchinson, RoseMary Braun of Willmar, Ralph Braun of Stewart, Barb Pichotta of Stewart, Sharon (Todd) Redman of Hector and Karen Braun of Hutchinson; many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; brother, Gerald Braun; and nephew, Michael Molenaar.
