Panther girls cagers keep winning
An impressive mid-season winning streak continued for the Glencoe-Silver Lake girls’ basketball team last week. The final record shows that the Panthers eked out a 32-30 victory at Mound Westonka on Friday, Jan. 23.
However, there was initially some confusion regarding the outcome, which led to some false condolences being conveyed to coach Zach Otto-Fisher.
“They had reported the score the other way around,” he said. “People were saying ‘sorry about the loss’ and things like that."
When the situation was rectified, the “narrow loss” was indeed acknowledged as yet another victory – even if the Panthers were not at their best for in the road battle. All told, it was still a triumph, and it was one that extended GSL's winning streak to six games.
