Panthers look toward winter
With the probability of the season’s first snowfall this week, most of the Glencoe-Silver Lake winter sports teams have yet to officially begin practice.
With the 2016-17 season getting off to a little bit later of a start than last year, there’s been a bit of a lull in the local gymnasiums, with only the GSL seventh- and eighth-grade girls’ basketball teams having taken up the yoke of winter competition.
The GSL dance team got the earliest jump on the winter season, with its first practice having come back on Monday, Oct. 24.
The Synergy’s first competition is scheduled for noon on Saturday, Dec. 3, at Hutchinson. The team currently does not have a meet scheduled to take place at GSL.
With the exception of the Synergy, only the GSL high school girls’ basketball team has begun preseason practices in earnest.
