Post 5102 takes third in Hutch tourney
With two wins out of three games, the Glencoe VFW Post 5102 baseball team claimed third place in the Hutchinson VFW Tournament last weekend.
Glencoe opened tourney play with an 8-1 defeat of Hector, with starting pitcher Chandler Glaeser earning the victory with six innings of seven-strikeout, three-hit ball.
Glaeser also went 3-for-3 at the plate, as did Ty Christensen; Christensen had two RBI, with Glaeser knocking in one run. Preston Sturges went 2-for-4 with one RBI.
Litchfield rallied from a 5-1 deficit to defeat Glencoe 6-5 in the middle game of the tournament.
Christensen took a no decision after five innings of work in the start before Andrew Wraspir pitched the final two innings in relief.
