Post 641 drops three straight to wrap up June
The Plato American Legion Post 641 baseball team went 0-3 last week, dropping one game at Watertown and a doubleheader against Holy Family.
Plato’s week began with a 6-2 setback against Watertown on Wednesday, June 28. The hosts took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first, before Post 641 battled back to score a pair of runs in the top of the third.
Taylor Schauer reached on a one-out error and was promptly driven home on an RBI double by Dane Schwirtz. Schwirtz then crossed the plate on a two-out RBI single by Carsen Streich. Unfortunately for Plato, that concluded the team’s scoring in both the inning and the game.
Korey Johnson took the loss, despite allowing just two earned runs in the contest. Alex Troska also pitched, striking out six batters over four innings of relief.
Post 641 headed further east on Friday, June 29, to take on Holy Family’s Legion team in Victoria.
