Richard Somerville, 71, of Glencoe

Richard Somerville

Richard Somerville, 71, of Glencoe passed away Friday, Dec. 24, at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center in Bemidji.
A funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 3, 2 p.m., at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe with interment in the Glencoe City Cemetery.
Visitation was held Monday, Jan. 3, noon to 2 p.m., at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe.
George St. Cyr was the officiating clergy.
Mark Somerville, Jon Johnson, Bill St Cyr and Dave Dahlberg were the casket-bearers.
Richard Moore Somerville was born June 16, 1950, in San Mateo, Calif. He was the son of John Jr. and Julia Ann (Mattei) Somerville.
In 1977, Richard was united in marriage to Debbie Aasheim in New Jersey. This union was blessed with two children, Mark and Rebecca.
Richard was a member of the Sierra Club. He was a very smart, intelligent man who enjoyed electronics, traveling, visiting the national parks and trains. Richard could start a conversation with anyone. He cherished the time he spent with his family.
Mr. Somerville passed away at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center Friday, Dec. 24, at the age of 71 years. Blessed be his memory.
Richard is survived by his wife, Debbie Somerville, of Glencoe; children, Mark (Raha) Somerville of Burnsville, and Rebecca Somerville and her fiancée, Jon, of Maple Grove; all grandchildren; siblings, Jean (Fred) Freeman, Thomas (Kim) Somerville, Eleanor (Greg) Trapp and Sarah (Rodney) Somerville.
Mr. Somerville is preceded in death by his parents, John Jr. and Julia Somerville.
