Rough week for GSL girls
What had been a high-flying Glencoe-Silver Lake girls basketball team was brought back down to Earth last week as a six-game winning streak was replaced by a two-game losing skid.
“Tough week last week,” coach Zach Otto-Fisher said.
With one of their top players, Maddie Monahan, dealing with the flu bug, the Panthers fortunes turned for the worse as the young squad fell from the top of the Wright County Conference West standings.
Monahan was forced from the majority of the second half in GSL’s stinging 47-45 loss to visiting Dassel-Cokato on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
“It took us a little time to get flowing without [Maddie],” Otto-Fisher said. “I thought the girls did a great job on the floor still and battled hard.”
