Ruth Anne Wendlandt, 78, of Gaylord, passed away Tuesday, May 7, at Ridgeview Sibley Medical Center in Arlington.
A funeral service was held Friday, May 10, 11 a.m., at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop with interment in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Gaylord.
The Rev. Paul Tessmer was the officiating clergy.
Julianne Trebelhorn was the organist. “Lift High The Cross,” “Amazing Grace,” “Jesus Loves Me, This I Know,” “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” and “Blessed Assurance” were the congregational hymns.
Mrs. Wendlandt’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the honorary casket-bearers.
Mitchel Frauendienst, Jason Wendlandt, Ryan Wessel, Derrick Wessel, Brandon Geiger and Shawn Bertram were the casket-bearers.
Ruth Anne Wendlandt was born March 28, 1941, in Gaylord. She was the daughter of Alfred and Elise (Uecker) Meyer. Ruth Anne was baptized as an infant and was later confirmed in her faith as a youth, both at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. She received her education at Immanuel Lutheran Parochial School in Gaylord and was a graduate of the Gaylord High School Class of 1959.
Ruth Anne was united in marriage to Harlan Wendlandt at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord April 17, 1959. After their marriage, the couple farmed in Transit Township. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Ruth Anne and Harlan were blessed with four children. The couple shared 60 years of marriage.
Mrs. Wendlandt was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winthrop and the Ladies Guild. She enjoyed traveling to all the states, site seeing, reading, family tree, history, going to the casino, concertina, accordion and old-time music. Mrs. Wendlandt liked the organ played loud, singing, vacationing and driving the tractor in the fall. She cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Wendlandt passed away Tuesday, May 7, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Arlington at the age of 78 years. Blessed be her memory.
She is survived by her husband, Harlan Wendlandt, of Gaylord; children, Timothy Wendlandt and his wife, Marla of Hutchinson, Vicki Frauendienst and her husband, Randy, of Nicollet, Wendy Wessel and her husband, Bill, of Sauk Centre, Brent Wendlandt and his wife, Tasha, of Brownton; grandchildren, Jason (Abbey Leach) Wendlandt of Chaska, Chelsea (Shawn) Bertram of Sauk Centre, Tressa (Matthew) Clarke of Sioux Falls, S.D., Jack Peterson of Sioux Falls, S.D., Mitchel (Trista) Frauendienst, Nicole Beyer, Jamie (Sean Beaudry) Frauendienst, Sara (Brandon) Giefer, Christopher Wendlandt, Sapphire Wendlandt, Tyler (Brittany) Tidwell, Stephanie Wessel of St. Augusta, Ryan (Miranda Harnick) Wessel of Sauk Centre, Britney (Dan) Schlopkol of Starbuck, Samantha Wessel of Sauk Centre, Derick Wessel of Sauk Centre; great-grandchildren, Eli Bertram, Eddie Bertram, Ellis Clarke, Mya Frauendienst, Wyatt Frauendienst, Mason Frauendienst, Charlie Frauendienst, Sadie Beyer, Myles Roethler, Malachi Roethler, Maverick Frauendienst, Noah Beaudry, Isaac Beaudry, Zada Beaudry, Hunter Giefer, Josiah Tidwell, Neveah Tidwell, Jocelyn Wessel, Ryker Wessel, Winston Wessel, Philip Schlopkol, Henry Schlopkol, Baby Schlopkol due any day; brother, Paul and Diana Meyer of Gaylord; sister-in-law, Gloria Mielke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Wendlandt was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Elsie Meyer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Ella Wendlandt; brother-in-law, Lester Mielke.
