Sibley County 4-H sets day camps

Numerous summer day camps will be provided during June and July by the Sibley County 4-H Program. Each camp includes exciting and active learning opportunities for youths in kindergarten through fifth grade. You do not need to be a 4-H member to participate. Following is a list of the camps being offered: 
Horse Camp — Wednesday, June 24, 9 a.m. to noon; Horse Arena, Sibley County Fairgrounds, Arlington. Spend the day talking about and even working with horses, along with the Sibley County 4-H Horse Project members. 
Paint Party Day Camp —Thursday, July 16, (tentative: date may change), 9 a.m. to noon; Sibley County Service Center. Come and find your creative side during this day of art. Nancy Guggisberg will be leading participants through a painting class.
Parachute into Aerospace — Wednesday, July 15, 9 a.m. to noon, Gaylord City Park. Throughout the day campers will explore the science behind flight of planes, parachutes, gliders, and more, while also getting the chance to make a flying device of their own. 
Great Day to Garden Day Camp — Wednesday, July 1,  9 a.m. to noon, Gibbon City Park. Come and experience the basics of gardening, including activities about plant needs, characteristics, colors, and insects. Participants will be able to plant their own plant.
Like an Egyptian — Monday, July 6, 9 a.m. to noon, Winthrop City Park. Can you imagine living 5,000 years ago? Youth will participate in activities about the Ancient Egyptian pyramids, youth, food, and more.
Superheroes – In Your Library and in Your World – Tuesdays, June 16 through July 21, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., Gaylord Public Library. Youth will read stories about various types of heroes, while also enjoying crafts, food and adventure along the way.
