Silver Lake City Council OKs allocating coronavirus relief funds

Silver Lake received around $60,000 as part of the CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds passed by U.S. Congress in late March. The funds must be spent by Nov. 15 or would be passed to McLeod County.
To date, the city has spent about $7,000 for purchases related to the coronavirus pandemic, including audio equipment to better record and stream the audio of city council meetings.
