Stewart discusses MNSPECT contract, construction retainage
The Stewart City Council made brief work of a diverse agenda at a meeting Monday night, Oct. 14. Council members discussed MNSPECT contract issues and voted to retain 2.5 percent from the 2018-2019 infrastructure improvement project.
Councilor Curt Glaeser pointed out to the rest of the city council that the MNSPECT contract, which the council didn’t OK, includes a clause allowing the city to back out of the contract on 30 days notice with cause. Glaeser said the MNSPECT contract should fall similarly in line with all the other contracts the city holds, which he said typically don’t include a reason for backing out of the contract.
