Subdivision ordinance, shed permit topics for county planning committee
McLeod County will begin reviewing its subdivision ordinance, Assistant Zoning Administrator Marc Telecky told the county planning advisory committee at its Wednesday, June 22, meeting.
Telecky said the ordinance was drafted in 1981, and was therefore due for a review. He said he will be working on the ordinance in conjunction with the McLeod County Attorney’s Office.
Ron Shimanski, the county board’s representative on the planning committee, asked that the issue of drainage in rural residential subdivisions be addressed in any revisions.
Shimanski said there is a subdivision near Silver Lake with no drainage authority.
“Now there are problems with the tile, and no one knows whose responsibility it is to fix it,” said Shimanski.
