Thomas Wachlarowicz, 68, of Silver Lake

Thomas Michael Wachlarowicz

Thomas Michael Wachlarowicz, 68, of Silver Lake, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 12, at his residence after a two year battle with cancer.
He was born on November 28, 1953 in Little Falls, to John and Rose (Rohlik) Wachlarowicz.
Tom graduated from Little Falls High School in 1971.
He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1973-1976.
Tom attended St. John’s University, Rochester Community College and Mankato State University. He received degrees in both nursing and business.
On June 9, 1979, Thomas M. Wachlarowicz and Penny L. Piper were joined in holy marriage in Rochester. God blessed their marriage with four children.
He was formerly employed as a nursing home director in various facilities throughout Minnesota.
Tom served on the Glencoe-Silver Lake School Board from 1990 until 2001.
Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodcarving, biking, feeding the birds, playing cards and Farkle with grandchildren, and making fishing lures. Family was very important to him.
Mr. Wachlarowicz is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Penny; children and spouses, Kara (Matthew) Wallace, Mathew (Kate) Wachlarowicz, Marissa (Emanuel VonDran) Wachlarowicz and Nikolas (Gargy Dubey) Wachlarowicz; grandchildren, Benjamin, Zackary and Katelyn Wallace; Jack and Boone Wachlarowicz and Liam, Lincoln and Brekkan VonDran; siblings, Jim (Lynn) Wachlarowicz, Jeff (Roxanne) Wachlarowicz, Frank Wachlarowicz, Jack (Grace) Wachlarowicz, Mary (Steve) Dewald and Ann Wachlarowicz; other relatives and friends.
Tom’s parents preceded him in death.
