US Solar appeals county’s denial of solar garden to court
The developers of a proposed solar garden are appealing to the Minnesota Court of Appeals a McLeod County Board decision to reject a conditional-use permit for the project in Hale Township.
United States Solar and USS Water Fowl Solar LLC are contending the county board made the wrong decision last spring.
US Solar and its real estate agents applied for a conditional-use permit for a solar garden. The county board, in a 3-2 vote, rejected the proposal. McLeod’s written notice of denial states the CUP application was denied because concern for the preservation and protection of land values and the property is considered prime agricultural soil.
