Volleyball team rebounds from royal setback
After a tough loss at conference foe Watertown-Mayer, the GSL volleyball team enjoyed success against Tri-City United and a field of battle-tested small schools over the weekend.
Glencoe-Silver Lake roared through pool play Saturday in Montgomery and defeated the host Titans in the semifinal round before beating Central Minnesota Christian. After the loss to the Royals the previous Thursday evening, the Panthers are now on a five-match winning streak. It improves the Panthers’ overall record to 11-7. They are 5-1 against section foes, 1-2 against teams in the Wright County Conference-West.
After Monday night’s Sept. 30 clash with Lester Prairie/Holy Trinity, the Panthers faced Mound Westonka last night, Tuesday, Oct. 1. GSL will host New London-Spicer tomorrow night, Oct. 3, 7 p.m. The Panthers will also host Litchfield Oct. 8, 7 p.m.
