Despite being upended in one of its two road games last week, the Glencoe-Silver Lake boys’ basketball team remained in the thick of the hunt for both a top finish in the Wright County Conference West as well as a No. 1 seed for the upcoming Section 2AA Tournament.
The Panthers entered this week at 13-5 overall and 4-2 in the WCC West after claiming a lopsided win at Dassel-Cokato on Tuesday, Jan. 27, followed by a disappointing loss at New London-Spicer three nights later.
“We came out with some really good energy on Tuesday,” coach Robb DeCorsey said. “We didn’t have that same energy on Friday.”
GSL initially held on to its share of the division lead with Annandale following a 66-46 besting of Dassel-Cokato to kick off last week.
The Panthers charged out to a 25-15 halftime lead and kept pouring it on after the break to win by 20.
“We really came out and got after it,” DeCorsey said. “The game flowed and we really didn’t let D-C get anything going.”
