Roger Stanley Sandau, 83, of Fridley, died Oct. 11, 2017.
He graduated from Glencoe High School in 1952. He joined the Air Force in 1954. He was united in marriage to Carol Warnke in 1957. He graduated from Minnesota State University in 1950, and got his master’s degree in 1960 from the University of Colorado.
Mr. Sandau taught in Minneapolis Public Schools from 1960 to 1990. He coached boys soccer at Patrick Henry and later at South High.
He enjoyed going to Florida for the winter months and playing golf. He was very generous with a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carol; son Mark (Trish); grandson, Jack; granddaughters, Emma and Trinity; other dear family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Reinhold and Sarah Sandau and his sister, DeVelda Roth.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Robbinsdale.
