Nancy Lee Green, 71, of Norwood Young America (NYA), died Thursday night when her home burned, according to the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the sheriff’s office, a report came in at 5:54 p.m. regarding a house fire on Railroad Street East in NYA, and that an adult female, who was paralyzed and unable to move on her own, may be in the residence.
Responding officers found the mobile home fully involved in flames upon arrival. Fire departments from NYA, Glencoe, Hamburg, Cologne, Plato, Mayer and New Germany responded and extinguished the fire. Green was found deceased in the residence.
Officials believe the fire started with a kerosene heater that was being used to thaw pipes underneath the mobile home.
