Charlotte Elizabeth (Wolter) Alpaugh, 59, of Carver, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at N.C. Little Hospice House in Edina.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 1, at the Johnson-McBride Funeral Chapel in Glencoe with the Rev. Anders Davidson officiating. Dawn Wolter was the organist. Congregational hymns were “Beautiful Stranger,” “I’m But a Stranger Here” and “Abide With Me.”
Honorary casket bearers were Jamie Alpaugh and Ashley Alpaugh. Casket bearers were John Wolter, Maria Wolter, Erin Klemz, Todd Klemz, Paulette Day and Karla Gottfried. Interment was in First Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Glencoe.
Charlotte Elizabeth (Wolter) Alpaugh was born May 4, 1958, in Arlington, the daughter of Maynard and Elizabeth (Gottfried) Wolter. She was baptized in the Christian faith as an infant on May 25, 1958, by the Rev. A.H. Fellwock, and was confirmed in her faith as a youth on March 5, 1972, by the Rev. M.S. Pohl, both at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. She attended First Lutheran School from kindergarten through the eighth grade, and then received her high school education in Mayer, graduating with the Mayer Lutheran High School class of 1976. She was a member of the Glencoe Pioneers 4-H Club as a youth.
On July 6, 1996, she was united in marriage to Mike Alpaugh by the Rev. Harvey H. Kath at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe. They made their home in Norwood Young America and Carver. They shared 21 years of marriage.
Mrs. Alpaugh worked at the Waconia Elementary School, The McLeod County Chronicle, Waconia Patriot, NordicTrack and Harris Communication. She enjoyed quilting, antiques, genealogy, reading, puzzles, cooking and baking. She loved to travel and enjoyed trips to the Black Hills, Hawaii, Duluth, Two Harbors, Florida, Las Vegas and Washington, D.C. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Michael Alpaugh of Carver; brothers, Bob (Dawn) Wolter and Ron Wolter; nephew, John (Maria) Wolter; niece, Erin (Todd) Klemz; stepchildren, Jamie Alpaugh and Ashley Alpaugh; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dick and Rachel Alpaugh; brother-in-law, David (Amy) Alpaugh; niece, Brianna Alpaugh; aunts, Bernice Wolter and Karen (Gordon) Healey; many cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Maynard and Elizabeth Wolter; grandparents, Jacob and Dorothea Gottfried and J. Peter and Margaretha Wolter; many aunts, uncles and other relatives.
