The McLeod County Board of Commissioners spent the majority of their Tuesday morning open portion of the meeting discussing and approving a request from Novel Energy for a conditional use permit for two single-megawatt community solar garden systems to be connected to the public power grid of Xcel Energy on private property in the Winsted Township.
The city of Lester Prairie and Winsted Township both had concerns and both recommended denial at their respective meetings. Winsted Township, though initially recommending denial, found themselves satisfied with concerns based on certain conditions.
