July 2, 2019
Mayor Schwarze called the meeting to order.
Public hearing for Jamie Bah garage e build was held. Council approved variance for 1200 sq. ft.
Melanie Lindeman gave an update of the BABS fields. They were awarded a 2019 Twins Fields for Kids matching grant of $7500. They will be replacing the sideline and outfield fence on field one and adding a sideline and outfield fence on field two. Council approved to pay the additional $1550 to have the fence removed and disposed of. Logan Anderson felt the sick policy needs to be updated to benefit the employees that don’t abuse their sick leave. He also questioned what happens when people don’t get fence permits and who enforces them.
John Rodeberg from SEH had insufficient information to submit R&R Pay Application #10. Creative Curb will be here the week of July 8 pending weather conditions. Spring seeding hasn’t started; may need to be done again in fall Working to get numbers together for the Dollar General Project Manager.
Public Works has Pearson Brothers coming the first part of August to seal coat. Thein Well is looking at costs on well #2; they may come back higher if they need to replace the interpipe or fix the well casing. Hjerpe will complete the tile work on the west side of the civic center on Wednesday. Grass clippings are becoming an issue again. Addresses will be sent to police, and they will handle accordingly. Chad will get gravel from Creekside to fill on 9th Ave N. Century Fence will be out next week to fix a gate and will look at the one at the dump. New lock will be put on as well with limited number of keys.
Police Chief Bauer said they have had a busy month. The body cameras are ordered; he will provide a new policy when they get them. We will review the ATV Ordinance.
Council approved the 2019 – 20121 Township Fire Protection Agreements.
Council approved the Lions donations for SummerRec/Enrichment/BABS Ballfield and expressed gratitude t them.
The Liability Coverage Waiver Form with LMC was approved.
Council approved the SWCTC Highway 212 BUILD Grant Application Support Letter.
Council repealed ordinance #60 (Cable Franchise) and #3 (Peddlers and replaced with current ordinances #79 and #83.
RX &W Underground Storm Water & Sanitary Sewer License Agreement was approved.
RS Fiber will be here for the Brownton Days Craft and Vendor Sales on Saturday, July 27 in the City Park.
Stu Sanchez was hired as the new custodian. Welcome Stu.
