In his shop on the backside of a shed at his home in Glencoe Township, Granville Drew uses his hands and a desire to create objects from wood. It is a talent the Glencoe Township man has put to good use since he retired 24 years ago.
At 92, Drew has the ability to create toys and trucks of many forms. It’s a hobby that keeps him physically active and his mind vibrant. The shelves in his shop are filled with the trucks and tanks, military vehicles, fire trucks, windmills and furniture. He’ll donate the items to his grandchildren and friends.
Drew has also donated his handiwork to several groups. He bestowed a fire truck he made to Blizzard Blast silent auction, a fundraiser to help pay for hospice services not covered by insurance.
